Old Sheppard Ave_ Dangerous Race Track

The stretch of Old Sheppard Avenue between Muirhead Road P. S. and Brian Avenue has become a dangerous race track. Cars really speed along this stretch of the road with impunity. What makes it a matter of particular concern is that there are many young people crossing the street on their way to or from school, leaving the town houses or making their way to Old Sheppard Park. This stretch is also used as a through way for cars wishing to avoid the traffic on Sheppard Avenue, so it carries heavy traffic. There are no stop streets for a considerable distance (from Brian to the corner of Muirhead Park) so cars can really build up a lot of speed. The speeding has really become a concern for the residents along that route.

What is really required are either traffic bumps or an increased presence of the police handing out speeding tickets. Whatever the case, we really need some action on the part of the authorities.
